PORTLAND — The Maine International Trade Center announces the winners of the 2011 International Trade and Investment Awards.

Hancock Lumber is the winner of the Exporter of the Year award. A family-owned Maine business since 1848, Hancock Lumber in Casco has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to increased exports. During the past year, the company has been successful in introducing Eastern White Pine to new markets around the globe.

Falcon Performance Footwear is the winner of the Innovator of the Year award. Falcon Performance Footwear in Auburn manufactures high-end industrial and mining boots. Innovative design and development of specialty composite materials, as well as a “build to order” manufacturing process, have given the company a competitive advantage in international markets.

Bernstein Shur of Portland and Augusta is the winner of the Service Provider of the Year award.

Molynlycke Health Care of Gothenburg, Sweden, is the winner of the Foreign Direct Investor of the Year award.

The companies will be recognized during Maine International Trade Day on May 24 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport.
