LEWISTON — An apparent gas leak at the old Wendy’s restaurant on Lisbon Street forced the closure of a section of Lisbon Street shortly before 5:30 p.m., police said.

A natural gas pipe was cut during construction, police said. Gas and electric utilities crews were dispatched to the scene along with firefighters.

The closed section of Lisbon Street runs from Martin Drive to St. Croix Street.
