LEWISTON — Nancy Drum Meldrum, 75, of Gray, passed away Saturday, March 17, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
She was born in Wyndotte, Mich., April 24, 1936, daughter of the late Kenneth and Doris Pearson Drum. She graduated from the University of Maine in Farmington.
Nancy married Bryce A. Meldrum June 28, 1958, and they shared 53 years together. Nancy taught school in the home economics department at Mechanic Falls High School and also was an assistant teacher in the Lewiston and Auburn school systems. Nancy and her husband lived 36 years in Lewiston, prior to moving to Gray, two years ago.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking, scrapbooking with her daughters and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bryce of Gray; two daughters, Lori Dyer and husband, Ellery, of Hartford and Julie Hayes and husband, Kerry, of Gray; three grandchildren, Stephanie and Jennifer Dyer and Benton Hayes; a sister, Betty Coykendall and husband, Alan, of Unionville, Conn.; and a brother, James Drum and wife, Glenda, of Damariscotta.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Joanne Norris.
