LEWISTON — Sound Physicians announces the appointment of Amber Pena, MD, as chief hospitalist at its St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center hospitalist practice.

Dr. Pena leads the team of hospitalist physicians at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in the provision of 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week inpatient medical coverage in partnership with community providers.

Dr. Pena completed her residency in internal medicine at University Health Science Center in Albuquerque, N.M., and graduated from medical school at the University of Texas at Houston. She has served as a hospitalist at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center since 2009 and has been part of the Lewiston community since 2001.
