Club supper

DIXFIELD — The Web River Valley Sportsman’s Club, Canton Point Road, will have a meeting, supper and Ladies Night on Monday, April 2. A social hour will be held at 5 p.m. followed by supper at 6.

Theme dinner

MEXICO — “An Evening in Tuscany,” the April theme dinner, will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at Region 9 School of Applied Technology cafeteria. A social time will start at 5:30.

Cost is $10 a plate. The community event is coordinated by the Outlanders, dedicated to kick off National Grange Month, and will feature Tina Hicks as culinary guide.

Mountain Valley High School Interact Club members will serve and proceeds will be donated to Rumford Grange.

Pre-K program

DIXFIELD — Parents who have a 4-year-old by Oct. 15 who they would like to attend a pre-kindergarten program at Hartford-Sumner Elementary School or Dirigo Elementary School should contact the school for more information.

Those who live in the Hartford/Sumner/Buckfield area should contact Hartford-Sumner Elementary at 388-2681. Those in the Canton, Carthage, Dixfield and Peru areas should contact Dirigo Elementary School at 562-4207.

Dirigo Elementary School will hold its kindergarten screening on Thursday, April 26.

Those who have a kindergarten age student should contact Crystal Duguay at the school, 562-4207, as soon as possible to arrange a screening date and time.

Church gets grant

CARTHAGE — The Carthage Union Church has received a $1,000 grant from Vision New England to assist low-income elderly residents with projects they may help with.

The project could be relating to housing, transportation, health or anything approved by the church. Funds are limited and all applicants will be accepted on a first-come basis. The deadline for filing for assistance is Tuesday, May 15.
