OXFORD — Elaine L. Curtis, 77, of Oxford went to join her loving husband in heaven on Thursday, March 29, at home with her loving family by her side after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Mechanic Falls, Oct. 15, 1934, daughter of Erland and Thelma (Holt) Allen.
She spent her childhood days on Pigeon Hill and attended Oxford schools. She played basketball throughout her school years, and was known to her friends and team mates as “Shorty.” She graduated from Oxford High in 1953.
On Jan. 16, 1959, she married George E. Curtis, and went on to raise four children together. Elaine worked 30-plus years for Pleasant Mountain Moc. in Bridgton.
