MEXICO — The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency issued an arrest warrant early Wednesday evening for a local man after finding cocaine in his home, Matt Cashman, MDEA supervisor special agent, said in a report.

Charges on the warrant for Brian Worthley, 38, who rents the 107 Swett Ave. address, include criminal conspiracy and violation of conditions of release, Cashman said.

Earlier Wednesday, the agency, Mexico and Rumford police and Oxford County Sheriff’s deputies served a search warrant at the Swett Avenue home in Mexico.

No one was home at the time, Cashman said.

He said police “located cocaine in the residence, as well as other items consistent with the trafficking of cocaine.”

Additionally, officers uncovered a marijuana cultivation operation at the residence and seized more than 35 pot plants in various stages of growth, Cashman said.

Worthley is believed to be in the Rumford-Mexico area, he said.

The search warrant was executed as part of an ongoing investigation into the trafficking of cocaine and oxycodone, a narcotic painkiller, in the Rumford and Mexico area.

Cashman said the search warrant was a follow-up to Friday’s Hillside Lane search warrant in Rumford’s Virginia neighborhood.

At that location, Dawn M. Miller, 36, of 818 Hillside Ave., was arrested and charged with aggravated trafficking in cocaine and violating conditions of release.

“The investigation continues with further arrests expected,” Cashman said.
