LEWISTON — As the Lewiston-Auburn Film Festival readies for Friday’s kickoff, tickets remain available for most events.

“I’m hoping they’ll approach a sellout, but we’re not there yet,” festival director Joshua Shea said Thursday. His office has been getting calls from people who mistakenly thought tickets were gone. “I don’t know where it’s coming from.”

Friday’s Don McLean concert at the Franco-American Heritage Center still has “a few dozen” tickets available, Shea said. Many tickets are available for Saturday’s screenings. There are also about 20 seats remaining for Saturday night’s gala at the Hilton Garden Inn, and more for Sunday’s panel discussion and screening of the festival-winning movies.

Only the catch-all VIP tickets are sold out, he said.

The ticket questions are coming in as Shea, his staff and lots of volunteers are going through last-minute preparations.

“There’s a to-do list that’s as long as my arm,” Shea said.
