CARTHAGE — New England Celtic Arts will present the Irish duo Murray and Falkenau at Skye Theatre Performing Arts Center on Sunday, April 22.

The contemporary folk/roots duo based in Galway has been performing  since 2009. Anna Falkenau plays fiddle and lead guitar; songwriter Ivan J. Murray plays guitar and provide vocals.

The two have toured throughout Ireland, France, Germany and the United States, with recent highlights including the Galway Arts Festival 2011 and a support slot with American stalwarts The Foghorn Trio.

They recorded their debut album, “The Leipzig Sessions,” in Germany in 2010 and released it in May 2011 on their own label and publishing company, Treetone Music Ltd. The CD blends original music and songs touching on Irish and American traditions.

Curtain is 7 p.m., with a preshow jam session slated one hour prior to show. Skye Theater is at 2 Highland Drive off Winter Hill Road and U.S. Route 2. For tickets, $15 at the door, call 562-4445.
