LEWISTON — Central Maine Medical Center’s Sam and Jennie Bennett Breast Care Center has been granted full accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, a program administered by the American College of Surgeons.
NAPBC accreditation is awarded to centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance.
NAPBC accreditation indicates that a breast care center has demonstrated a firm commitment to provide patients every significant advantage in their battle against breast disease.
NAPBC-accredited centers must assure that patients have access to quality breast care close to home, including: comprehensive state-of-the-art services; a multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options; and information about ongoing clinical trials and new treatment options.
