Auburn Library book sale
AUBURN — A book sale will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in the Auburn Public Library basement book room. Books include hardcover fiction, classics, Bibles, languages, politics and specials on romances and children’s books.
The sale will take place on the last Thursday of each month through May.
‘Lisbon Street’ author to speak
LEWISTON — Lewiston author James Howaniec will speak about his new novel, “Lisbon Street,”at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 26, in Callahan Hall at the Lewiston Public Library, 200 Lisbon St.

Blacksmiths, Friends concert
AUBURN — The Resistance Ministries will hold a free concert featuring The Blacksmiths and Friends at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 27, at East Auburn Baptist Church, Park Street. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Artists include Salvation’s House, brother and sister duo Joel and Janna, Ryan Hausman, Darren Avery, Barry Lowe and The Blacksmiths.
A love offering will be taken to benefit the nonprofit youth ministry The Resistance Ministries. Merchandise from all of the artists will be available to purchase.

Presentation on stroke
LEWISTON — United Ambulance Service will host a free 45-minute presentation, “Stroke, What You Need to Know,” from noon to 12:45 p.m. Friday, April 27, at the United Training Center, 388 East Ave.

Pickwick Club to meet

Seniors spaghetti lunch
LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens will serve a spaghetti lunch including meatball, salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert for $4 for members at noon Monday, May 7, in the snack bar area at the Multi-Purpose Center. Tickets must be purchased in advance by April 30. The membership meeting will be held at 1 p.m. followed by Bingo for members. EL Class of 1940 reunion
AUBURN — Classmates of the Edward Little Class of 1940 will gather on Saturday, May 5, to celebrate their 72nd reunion at the Auburn Methodist Church, 493 Park Ave. Over these 72 years since being graduated from ELHS in 1940, 15 reunions have been enjoyed, bringing together friends from near and far as they shared family stories.
The social hours begins at 11 a.m. and the class picture will be taken prior to lunch. Following this, dinner will be served by the famous Gladys Chapman crew.
A high point of the day will be “Reminiscing with David Sargent,” noted Auburn historian and writer.
