Joe Laroche has yet to come up thru with his forfeit money and the management of the Lewiston A.C. say they will only wait till Tuesday noon for him to cover Snooks Crowley’s cash. It is whispered that Laroche has no overpowering desire to climb into the same ring with Snooks and his failure to post weight and appearance money would make this seem reasonable. Laroche has seen Crowley fight several times and he always wins with a knockout. Laroche has 43 undefeated. If Laroche does not post his forfeit money, Snooks will claim the 105 pound championship of Maine.

People who have been trucking junk and rubbish to the Auburn city dump had better start covering their loads or the police are going to start covering them with warrants. Auburn Police Capt. Lawrence P. Marczak said this afternoon that the department is starting a drive immediately to see to it that trucks which are transporting rubbish have their loads covered as required by the city ordinances. Councilman John White of Ward One told police again today that many of the residents of his ward have complained to him that all sorts of debris is blowing about the ward. It is believed that some of the trucks are from Lewiston, after the dump in that city is closed for the day.
