FARMINGTON — Two men accused of trying to break into a residence on Lamkin Lane on Feb. 14 were indicted by a Franklin County grand jury Thursday.

Miguel Cedeno, 21, of Mexico, and Matthew Lancaster, 20, of Livermore were each indicted on a felony charge of attempted burglary. A conviction is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

The men are accused of breaking a window on a mobile home with the butt of a shotgun in an attempt to get inside while residents were home.

Farmington police arrived within three minutes but found no one. They found blood at the scene and went to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. They found Cedeno there being treated for a laceration to his hand. He denied being at the Lamkin Lane residence, police previously said. He voluntarily gave police DNA.

The sample was analyzed and compared to blood taken at the scene and it matched Cedeno’s, according to police. He was arrested in late February in Jay.

Lancaster was arrested in March after police received more information.
