SOUTH PARIS – The Norway-Paris Kiwanis Club will be ready to hand out more than 200 bicycle helmets to youngsters at its annual Bike Rodeo starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

In addition, club members will be inspecting and servicing bikes before the event, which will be run by members of the Norway and Paris police departments as well as the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.

The rodeo coincides with the Oxford Hills Rotary Club May Day Play Day that will feature the Norway Fire Department smoke house, pony rides, a balloon man, tractor with barrel rides, face painting, the ropes course in the gym and other games – all free for the kids

Joining the combined event for the first time will be the CHIPS (Child Identification Program) sponsored Oxford Masonic Lodge No. 18 of Norway. This free national program is designed to provide parents with special identification cards, a CD with their child’s information and a DNA swab in the event that their child is ever missing. All personal information is left solely with the accompanying parent.

Also new this year is child safety seat inspection and instruction offered by Stephens Memorial Hospital. Trained professionals will check out your child seat and offer instruction on proper installation.
