Following the recount, City Clerk Sue Clements-Dallaire, third from left, announced that the school budget did pass 348-344 with two disputed ballots. Voters went to the polls to decide the school budget on May 8, resulting in a 349-349 tie. The ballots were counted again on May 9, resulting in a 349-344 vote to pass the budget. Later that week, Doughty submitted the required signatures to force Monday’s recount.
Ballots were inspected 50 at a time on Monday.
