LEWISTON — Four Mercy Hospital urologists have joined the Central Maine Medical Center medical staff and are seeing patients as part of a collaboration between a CMMC urology practice and Mercy Health System of Maine.

Fore River Urology, a specialty health care practice affiliated with Mercy Hospital in Portland, is working with Central Maine Urology Center, 287 Main St., Suite 404, to provide patient care in Lewiston, including surgical services at CMMC.

The urologists are seeing patients at Central Maine Urology Center’s 287 Main St. Plaza office in Lewiston while maintaining their practice in Portland.

The Fore River Urology physicians seeing patients at CMMC are Gregory Adey, M.D., Michael Corea, M.D., Marc Hodroff, M.D., and Benjamin Scoll, M.D.

With the exceptions of vasectomy and pediatric urology, they are providing basic urology services at Central Maine Urology Center’s Lewiston office. They also perform basic urology surgery at CMMC.

Gregory Adey, M.D., graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and completed his surgical and urologic training with the Harvard Program in Urology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, both in Boston. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His special expertise includes treatment of all types of urologic cancers, kidney stones, erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hypertrophy, and fertility issues.

Michael Corea, M.D., earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin and completed his training at the Brown University Program in Urology/Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, R.I. Corea’s specialty focus includes minimally invasive therapies, especially in urologic oncology, stone disease, and enlarged prostate treatment. He has also served as a proctor for novel laparoscopic techniques to treat renal tumors, and is proficient in cryosurgery to treat prostate cancer. He keeps current on new modalities to treat erectile dysfunction and male and female incontinence.

Marc Hodroff, M.D., is fellowship-trained in female and pelvic reconstructive urology and has extensive experience treating incontinence, voiding dysfunction, and pelvic prolapse. He provides comprehensive care for both men and women with urinary incontinence, or leakage of urine, voiding dysfunction, and pelvic prolapse. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota, and completed his urologic training at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics before serving a fellowship in St. Paul, Minn. His other specialties include urologic cancer treatments and laparoscopy.

Benjamin Scoll, M.D., was awarded his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, and completed urology training at Temple University Hospital and the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia. His areas of interest include treatment of urologic cancers, urethral stricture disease, and male voiding dysfunction and complex urinary stone disease.

Central Maine Urology Center’s clinical staff includes Paul R. Mailhot, M.D., and physician assistant Heather Renihan.

A Lewiston native, Mailhot has practiced in his home community for some 30 years. He earned his medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and completed residency training at Brown University Medical Center in Providence, R.I. He is certified by the American Board of Urology.

Renihan earned her Master of Science degree in physician assistant studies at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, Calif. After obtaining her national certification she went on to practice family medicine and urgent care in San Diego before joining the Central Maine Urology Center team.
