MEXICO — The Mexico Police Department responded to 52 calls during the past eight days. Among them are the following.

Thefts

* A Sanders Street resident reported at 5:25 p.m., May 26, that someone entered his unlocked vehicle and stole an undisclosed amount of cash and the vehicle’s keys.

* A 14-year-old Peru boy was summoned at 4:34 p.m., May 22, on a charge of taking two cans of energy drink from the Mexico One Stop. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 3.

* A 14-year-old Rumford boy was summoned at 7:35 p.m. May 27, on a charge of theft of a bicycle on May 24 from the front of the Mexico Laundromat. The bicycle was recovered and returned to the owner. The boy is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on July 3.

* A rock was thrown through the window of a vehicle driven along the Roxbury Road by a Poplar Road resident at 4:25 p.m., May 23, causing $200 damage.

Accident

* Vehicles driven by Craig A. Gifford, 56, of Rindge, N.H., and Clarence D. Smith, 73, of Roxbury Road, Mexico, collided at 2:40 p.m., May 26, on the Roxbury Road. Gifford was summoned on a charge of driving without auto insurance. His 1996 Nissan sustained $2,000 damage. Smith’s 2001 Pontiac was destroyed.
