LIVERMORE FALLS — Blaine Carroll Smith, 64, a resident of Harris House in Livermore Falls, died late Sunday, June 3, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 25, 1947, in Hartland, the son of Rochie and Joyce (Hall) Smith. For the past 25 years, Blaine has made his home at the Strong Nursing Home in Strong until the facility was relocated to Livermore Falls and renamed the Harris House. With the relocation, Blaine was just two miles from his family’s home.
Throughout his lifetime, Blaine was able to do quite a bit of traveling, both with family as well as trips planned by the nursing home. A very special trip for him was when he was able to spend a week in Florida to celebrate his 60th birthday. For that trip, he was accompanied by three staff members from the Harris House and he was also able to visit his family while they were in Florida.
He is survived by his sister, Linda Nash and her husband, Wesley, of Millinocket; his two nieces, Laurie Nash and special friend, Robert Conway, of Marietta, Ohio, and Diane MacGilvray of Melbourne, Fla.; and two very special longtime friends, Rosalie Bates of New Vineyard and Deborah Wing of Strong.
He was predeceased by his parents; and an infant sister, Lisa Lorraine Smith.
Blaine’s family would like to thank all the wonderful staff members from the Strong Nursing Home and the Harris House for the amazing job they did providing him with such a wonderful home that was filled with heartfelt love and wonderful care.
