FARMINGTON — Farmington police are investigating the burglary of a Whittier Road home Thursday where an estimated $2,000 in jewelry and cash was taken.
The homeowner is still working on an inventory of possessions, but the initial value of items taken is estimated at $2,000, Rachel Heseltine, department secretary, said.
The burglary is believed to have occurred during the day when no one was home. The homeowner reported the burglary at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday.
The home appeared to be secure. Police believe a door on a porch was pried open.
The burglary is still under investigation. Police are considering it connected to another daytime burglary on Orchard Drive in Wilton.
