LEWISTON — Community Credit Union was recently recognized at the Maine Credit Union League’s Annual Convention with three first-place awards.
They included the Louise Herring Philosophy in Action Member Service Award and the Desjardins Youth and Adult Financial Education Awards. A second-place award was also received for the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award.
The Louise Herring Philosophy in Action Member Service Award is awarded to a credit union that demonstrates a program or policy that shows a commitment to the credit union philosophy of “People-Helping-People.”
The Desjardins Youth and Adult Financial Education Awards are given to a credit union that demonstrates leadership and outreach in youth and adult financial education initiatives.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award is designed to encourage credit union involvement in community projects and activities.
