Sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders were tasked with selecting a science topic of their choosing and developing a multifaceted project to be presented in front of the Hebron community. Students were required to include an informative poster, functional model and multi-media component in their oral presentations, which were first shared in smaller groups and evaluated earlier in the week.

Presenters were judged on accuracy, clarity, preparedness, creativity and public delivery. Topics ranged from egg hatching, with live chicks, to bioluminescence and from the science of concussions to carnivorous plants, and some projects took as many as three weeks to create.

All middle schoolers convened in Hebron’s Reading Room to share their dynamic presentations with their families and visitors in a “science open house” on May 3. Presenters earned awards for their hard work and creativity.
