PORTLAND — A tanker truck and a car crash near the Congress Street overpass on Interstate 295 on Thursday morning has caused northbound lanes to come to a standstill. 

A collision between a tanker truck and car occured in an area under construction, and the northbound lane has been blocked.

No injuries have been reported. Motorist are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate traveling routes until the crash site has been cleared, which may take most of the morning, according to a press release from the Maine State Department of Public Safety.
