KINGFIELD — Police say they are following solid leads on the Monday night armed robbery at Tranten’s Too at 371 Main St.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Cpl. Stephen Charles said he has heard from some witnesses but would like to hear from anyone else who may have seen or know something about the case. He may be reached at the Sheriff’s Department at 778-2680.

Charles updated the description of the white, male suspect to be between 20 to 30 years old and of medium build, about 140 to 160 pounds. He said he reportedly has dirty blond hair and a reddish beard.

The suspect is reported to be about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He is reported to have worn white gloves and had a red bandanna covering the lower half of his face, Charles said. The man was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt with white circle and line through it, black boots and blue jeans.

He is also believed to have a small bag, possibly camouflage in color. The suspect was armed with a silver handgun with black grips, he said.

The man fled on foot south on Route 27 in Kingfield and was last seen in the area of a turnaround across from Riverside Cemetery. He was reported to have been displaying a handgun, he said.
