FARMINGTON — Police investigated a burglary at 121 Holley Road on Thursday where a firearm was taken.
The burglary was reported shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday when the resident returned home and discovered someone had searched the bedroom and taken the gun from a nightstand, Rachel Heseltine, Farmington police secretary, said.
Police attempted to use a dog to track the suspect but once the dog reached the Fairbanks Road, the track was apparently lost, she said.
Nothing else was reported taken but the resident is currently doing an inventory of possessions. The type of firearm was not included in the report.
Police believe someone entered the home through a window, she said.
When the resident entered the home, he or she noticed some things seemed out of place and thought it was odd, Heseltine read from officer Michael Raymond’s report. Upon entering the bedroom, the resident found someone had gone through the entire room searching drawers and jewelry boxes and realized the firearm was gone.
The case remains under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Farmington Police Department at 778-6311.
