PARIS — Reports of similar illnesses at a 480 Oxford St. apartment had emergency officials worried about carbon monoxide poisoning Wednesday.

Paris police Lt. Mike Dailey said emergency personnel responded to complaints of illness at the apartment just after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

“When they got there, they learned that there was someone else in the same building that was also ill,” Dailey said.

The Paris Fire Department was called to test for carbon monoxide, and those tests found no evidence of it.

Dailey said he did not have the names of the two men who reported the illness but said both were in their 50s.

The first man was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital. The second refused treatment, he said.
