SABATTUS — Authorities in Sabattus released the name of the teen driver involved in a late-night crash July 3 that sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries.

Sabattus police Chief Tony Ward reported Monday that 17-year-old Jaymi Thibault of Lisbon was the driver of a car that collided with a motorcycle driven by Jacob Pouliot, 22, of Richmond at 12:06 a.m. on July 3.

Pouliot and his passenger, Arielle Pelletier, 21, of Lewiston, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with serious injuries. Neither were listed as patients at the hospital on Monday.

Authorities said Pouliot’s vehicle was traveling on Crowley Road headed from Lewiston into Sabattus when it was hit by the 2001 Ford sedan driven by Thibault at the intersection with Lisbon Road. Thibault was on Lisbon Road crossing Crowley Road when the crash occurred. There is a stop sign on Lisbon Road, but not one on Crowley Road.

Thibault was not injured as a result of the accident.

Police released the teen’s name nearly a week after the crash following public records requests made by the Sun Journal. The crash remained under investigation as of Monday. No charges had been filed.
