HARRISON — Harrison Recreation Department’s 10th annual 5K Run by the Lake will take place Wednesday, July 11, starting at 7 p.m.

The race has become a fun tradition for many friends and family in the “Friendly Village” and is a fundraiser for the Recreation Department.

Paula Holt, recreation director, plans all of the year-round activities from pre-K ages up through and continuing on past senior citizen ages.

The race will be held during the week of Harrison Old Home Days, which opens Thursday, July 12.

The infamous whoopie pies have become a memorable highlight of the race. Get yours as you cross the finish line.

L&H Photography will be on hand to photograph runners at the starting line and as they cross the finish line. They are also available to runners and non-runners for group/individual/family shots upon request. Organizers suggest that you pre-order ASAP from their website or sign up to ensure a photo op time. Orders/sign-ups will also be taken during race registration, starting at 5 p.m. on race day. For information, call Trish Logan at 357-1331 or visit www.landhphoto.com.
