LIVERMORE FALLS — A local man is accused of vandalizing the tailgate of a truck on Knapp Street after the owner caught him in the act.
Lt. Thomas Gould issued Duane Hanson, 22, of Livermore Falls a summons on a charge of criminal mischief, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.
Hanson was attempting to spell something on the tailgate when the owner of the truck caught him and knocked the can out of his hand, he said.
The estimate of damage is $50.
A second vehicle in the area was also spray painted, Steward said. The owner of that vehicle was expected to meet with Gould on Tuesday night to discuss the matter.
Hanson is scheduled to appear at 1 p.m. Aug. 15 at Lewiston District Court.
