DURHAM — The Summer Conversations Series, sponsored by Peace and Social Concerns of Durham Friends Meeting, will kick off Saturday, July 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Durham Friends Meetinghouse, 532 Quaker Meetinghouse Road.

The topic will be “Pray to God, AND Row Toward Shore!,” Faith, Science and Climate Change: In the Spirit of Stewardship and Sustainability, with guest speaker Ray Sirois.

Sirois lives in Harrison with his wife and son. He is a senior associate and IT director at Wright-Pierce, an engineering firm with offices around New England. He has served on the Maine DEP’s Climate Adaptation Group and has presented to more than 70 congregations, academic groups and business groups on the science of climate change and water.

Saturday, Aug. 25, will be the second evening in the series, with Sirois focusing on acidification of the oceans and visualizing civilization’s success with the challenges before us.
