PORTLAND – The Maine Turnpike Authority will conduct intermittent traffic stops this evening at mile 53 for northbound and southbound between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Contractors will be setting structural steel for the bridge carrying Exit 53 traffic over the Turnpike. Maine State Police will stop traffic for up to 25 minutes as necessary. Motorists may want to seek alternate routes, the MTA advises.
Intermittent traffic stops of up to 25-minutes are also scheduled Wednesday night between 10 p.m.and 5 a.m. for southbound traffic only.
