LOVELL — Two people were taken to the hospital Monday night following a two-car collision on the West Lovell Road, police said Tuesday night.
Anna Barker, 22, of Fryeburg, suffered a possible neck injury and from shock, Oxford County Deputy Sheriff Cpl. Brian Landis said.
Richard Mooney, 75, of Liverpool, N.Y., was also taken to the hospital. However, Landis said Mooney was suffering from heart issues unrelated to the accident.
Both were passengers in separate vehicles — Barker was in a 1994 Audi driven by Foster Maxwell, 25, also of Fryeburg, and Mooney was in a 2012 Dodge Caravan with Connecticut plates driven by his wife, Carole Mooney, 72, also of Liverpool, Landis said.
The Mooneys also had four family members ages 20 and younger with them, but the adults and children weren’t injured, he said.
At about 7:30 p.m. Monday, Carole Mooney crossed the center line to turn into a driveway, and drove into the path of the Audi, which struck the minivan, he said.
No citations were issued.
“It was just a lapse of judgment,” Landis said of Carole Mooney’s action.
He estimated damage to both cars, which had to be towed, at about $1,000 each.
