PARIS — On the heels of last month’s first Oxford Hills cash mob, which brought 135 locals to Books N Things in Norway, a second one is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 25.

Sponsors W.J. Wheeler Insurance and Oxford Federal Credit Union are not revealing the target of the cash mob, but participants are asked to bring $20 and meet at the W.J. Wheeler office in Market Square.

Kim Davis, marketing coordinator at Oxford Federal Credit Union, said in a release that cash mobs remind people they can buy the things they need locally. “In a time when many small local businesses are struggling, events like a cash mob help people realize they don’t have to go to big box stores or the Internet for things they want.”

Like the first cash mob, Oxford Hills Credit Union will sponsor refreshments at a local business afterward. That business will be revealed during the cash mob Saturday morning.
