NORWAY — A community safety day is set for Saturday at the Norway Fire Department.

Local fire and police departments will be on hand demonstrating how to react in dangerous situations and how to prevent fires. It will be sponsored by the Norway Fire Department and Norway Firemen’s Relief.

Smokey Bear will be there to meet kids and celebrate his birthday. They’ll also have a fire prevention trailer, where people can experience what it’s like to be in a burning building.

Coffee and refreshments will be served. The event is set to run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fire station on Danforth Street.
