LEWISTON — Ryan A. Smith has been named senior vice president, commercial regional manager for the southern and central regions of Maine. He is based in Lewiston and will oversee Camden National’s commercial banking activities in central and southern Maine.

Smith joins Camden National Bank with 15 years of commercial banking experience. Most recently, he was senior vice president of commercial banking for People’s United Bank, where he worked for 10 years. Prior to that, Smith held commercial positions at Northway Bank and Ford Motor Credit Company.

He received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine at Orono. Smith serves as director and is the immediate past president of the board of the Building Materials Exchange of Maine, and is a volunteer coach and manager of the New Auburn and Auburn Suburban Little League. He lives in Auburn with his wife and two children.
