PORTLAND — A Poland Spring man remained in the Cumberland County Jail late Sunday night after being arrested earlier that afternoon at a Sea Dogs game in Portland.

Christopher Chappell, 34, of Poland Spring was being held on $150 bail. He was charged Sunday at 4:15 p.m. with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and refusing to submit to arrest. He was later charged with possession of scheduled drugs when taken to the jail.

According to the Portland Police Department, Chappell was removed from the baseball game at Hadlock Field after causing a disturbance. He was told by police not to return to the property, but returned a short time later and tried to re-enter the stadium.

When an officer attempted to place him under arrest, Chappell resisted and was ultimately subdued with pepper spray.
