DURHAM — Two Lewiston brothers were injured Monday night when their car went off Old Brunswick Road and struck a sawed-off utility pole, a police official said.
Mustafa Maalim, 24, and his passenger, Abdimalik Maalim, 20, were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with non-life-threatening injures, Androscoggin County Deputy Sheriff Travis Lovering said.
Mustafa was turning from Old Brunswick Road onto Quaker Meetinghouse Road, failed to negotiate the curve, went off the right shoulder and struck the pole, he said.
Their 2003 Nissan Altima was demolished in the 7:15 p.m. crash, which remained under investigation Monday night.
