PALMYRA (AP) — A teenage girl reported missing from her Palmyra home earlier this month has been found and is being reunited with her family.
Fifteen-year-old Harley McGinnis had been reported missing from by her grandparents, who are also her guardians, on Aug. 16. They said she had threatened to run away.
Police said a detective who went to a Gorham home on Monday on an unrelated matter spotted the girl and confirmed her identity.
Police said Harley was in good health and there was no indication she was being held against her will.
Her grandfather, Sanborn Quimby, told the Bangor Daily News that he felt relief when he heard his granddaughter had been located and had not gone out of state as he feared.
