TURNER — Selectmen voted last week to close the Town Office on Friday, Aug. 31, for the Labor Day Weekend.

Several town employees had requested the day off as A “personal” day, which would have left the office understaffed. Town Treasurer Sandra Philipon said few residents traditionally conducted town business on the day before a holiday, so the closing should cause little hardship on townspeople.
