PORTLAND (AP) — A Pittston man police say was behind the wheel of a car that crashed in Standish last April, killing a St. Joseph’s College varsity basketball player, has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and other charges.

Tyler Hall remains free on $1,000 bail after entering his plea Tuesday in Cumberland County Court.

Police say the 20-year-old Hall was driving on April 14 and playing “leapfrog” with another vehicle, when he lost control of his car, which rolled over several times and became entangled in a chain-link fence.

Clark Noonan was thrown from the vehicle and died. The 20-year-old Noonan of Bangor was a sophomore business major and basketball player at St. Joseph’s College.

Hall’s lawyer said his client “feels terrible” about what happened to his friend.
