Coach: Greg Perkins (23rd year)
Last year’s record: 8-6-1, lost in Eastern Class A quarterfinals
Returning players: Seniors — Hannah Johnston (F), Sam Goulette (B), Amanda Williams (G), Taylor Berube (F), Kaelina Perron (M), Kaylee Caron (M/B), Sophie Harris (M), Katie Hummes (B); Juniors — Brittany Williams (B).
Key losses: Tori Couture (MF), Courtney Pelletier (F), Danielle Demers (B), Madison Williamson (MF), Kayla Nadeau (B), Jordan Tate (F), Gabby Laperriere (MF).
Promising newcomers: Junior — Julia Langevin (F); Freshmen — Madison DeRosa (sweeper), Abby Roy (MF/B).
Outlook: Edward Little will ask several players who saw key time as reserves in 2011 to step into starting roles this season in hopes of returning to the playoffs. Williams in goal and Goulette are defensive stalwarts. Johnston will be a focal point of the offense. The KVAC is loaded at the top, as always, with Skowhegan, Cony, Messalonskee and Lawrence leading the way. EL topped the next group a year ago and could do so again if younger players develop.
Coach’s comment: “It’s going to be an interesting year to see what we can build.” — Coach Greg Perkins
