Beekeepers meet Sept. 12
AUBURN — The Androscoggin County Beekeepers will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, in the vestry of the West Auburn Congregational Church, 811 West Auburn Road. All are welcome, new or experienced beekeepers.
The featured speaker is Tony Jadczak, state apiarist, who has held that position with the Maine Department of Agriculture for 29 years. He previously worked at Rutgers University researching crop pollination and bee disease control methods.
Jadczak’s presentation, “Fall Management and Getting Your Bees Ready for Winter,” will address parasite and pathogen control, feeding and wrapping hives. He will also talk about HopGuard (beta acids) that was recently registered in Maine for the control of varroa mites.

Danville Grange meeting
AUBURN — Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13. The program will consist of reconnecting by sharing summer highlights and planning for the new grange year. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.
