RUMFORD —  Jungle pilots are expected to fly into town on Wednesday, Sept. 12, for the seventh annual JAARS Missions at the Airport.

JAARS is the technical support arm of the Wycliffe Bible Translators.

Missions at the Airport is an event designed to showcase the technology JAARS uses to support worldwide Bible translation, according to its website.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at Zinck’s Field between U.S. Route 2 and the Androscoggin River. General admission and parking is free.

According to the JAARS website, while each Missions at the Airport event is different, most include the opportunity to:

* Ride in a missionary airplane or helicopter.

* Observe a Helio Courier flight demonstration.

* Explore how computers are used to support Bible translation.

* Interact with missionaries and JAARS pilots.

* Discover how media specialists dub languages into the JESUS film.

Ride tickets per person in the bush plane is $22; in the helicopter, $28. The flights are weather dependent.

A concert will be held on Saturday evening.
