CARRABASSETT VALLEY — One of Maine’s best-known athletes is endorsing former Gov. Angus King, an independent candidate in the race for U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe’s seat.
On Tuesday, two-time Olympic Gold Medal winner Seth Wescott said he would host a reception for King on Oct. 7 at the Rack, a restaurant Wescott is partners in, near the Sugarloaf ski resort.
“We’ve all had a chance to get to know Gov. King and appreciate what he has done for the state of Maine during his career as governor and as a businessman and philanthropist,” Wescott said in a written statement.
Wescott won gold medals in snowboardcross during the Winter Olympics in 2006 and 2010.
