AUBURN — Members of the Maine People’s Alliance and residents of Auburn, Poland, Durham and New Gloucester will host a candidate forum at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at the Community Little Theatre.
The town hall-style meeting will focus on how the economy is affecting people in the region. Candidates will hear from voters in the local districts about how state policies have directly influenced their lives.
“People want to hear their candidates address issues like jobs, health care and education,” MPA lead organizer Gen Lysen said.
Invitations have been sent to Democratic and Republican House and Senate candidates whose constituents live in the four towns. They include Senate candidates John Cleveland and Lois Snowe-Mello, and House candidates Brian Bolduc, Bettyann Sheats, Wayne Werts, Bruce Bickford, Michael Beaulieu and Dennis Graise.
The event is free and open to the public. The theater is at 30 Academy St.
