DURHAM — An out-of-town driver and his two passengers were injured and a second driver was charged following a car-pickup crash on Route 125 at the Soper Road intersection late Saturday night.
Sgt. Rielly Bryant of the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office identified the injured as driver Paul Lamson-Laplume, 33, of Freeport and his passengers, Jennifer Laplume, 33, and Jeremiah Lamson, 36. Bryant said the trio were trapped in their overturned car until personnel from Durham Fire & Rescue cut the roof off to extricate them.
Lamson-Laplume was listed in stable condition Sunday evening at Central Maine Medical Center. No information was available about Laplume or Lamson.
Bryant said Lamson-Laplume suffered head injuries, while Laplume had severe lacerations and Lamson complained of pain. All three were taken to CMMC by Durham Fire & Rescue and Lisbon Emergency.
The driver of the pickup truck, James Davis, 30, of Bowdoin, escaped apparent injury and was charged with failing to stop for a stop sign and failure to provide proof of insurance.
According to Bryant, Lamson-Laplume was southbound on Route 125 and Davis was crossing the highway at the Soper Road intersection.
Both Davis’ 2005 Dodge pickup and Lamson-Laplume’s 2000 Toyota were totaled in the 10:07 p.m. crash.
