NORWAY — Commander Ron Snow of the Stone-Smart American Legion Post 82 has announced the second annual veterans’ outreach briefings will be held Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Legion Hall on 212 Main St.

The briefings are to provide a better awareness of benefits available to the veterans. Last year’s briefings were attended by 57 men and women. Of that number, more than 40 percent found they were entitled to some Department of Veterans Affairs benefits at Togus.

The briefings will be conducted by Western Maine Veterans’ Home, the Bureau of Maine Veterans’ Services, and Togus office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The briefings will start at 9 a.m. and run until around noon. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.
