PARIS — Chief David Verrier said Tuesday that police have a suspect in a home burglary that occurred on Mount Mica Road on Monday.

A man in his late 20s or early 30s broke into the house while the owner was upstairs, he said.

“Apparently, somebody came to the house, knocked on the door,” Verrier said, and then entered. When the homeowner came downstairs and saw the man, he fled on foot toward Buckfield with a stolen laptop computer and an Apple iPad tablet computer.

The Maine Warden Service and Maine State Police helped search the area, Verrier said, but by the time the homeowner chased the burglar and came back to call 911, the man had a 10-12 minute head start.

Verrier said the suspect is a white male, about 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black sweatshirt. Anyone with information is asked to call the Paris Police Department at 743-7448.
