WILTON – Police are investigating a reported home invasion that occurred Monday on Canal Street, Chief Heidi Wilcox said in a press release Tuesday.
Police responded at about 8 p.m. to a resident who reported that an unknown man entered their home. He was described as being in his early 20s, more than 6 feet tall and weighing more than 200 pounds. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray hooded sweatshirt, Wilcox said.
When confronted by the homeowner, the suspect fled from the house. There were no weapons observed, no threats were made and nothing is known to be missing from the home, Wilcox said.
Wilton police were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and a search dog. The track indicated that the suspect may have traveled up High Street in Wilton to the area of South Stockford Avenue, she said.
If anyone in the area saw anything suspicious or a vehicle unknown to them in this area, Wilcox asks that they call the Police Department at 645-3876 or email police at [email protected]
