LEWISTON — The CareerCenter, 5 Mollison Way, announces November programming for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills to increase their employability. All sessions are held at the CareerCenter unless otherwise noted. To register for the sessions held at the CareerCenter, call 753-9005.

GATEway to Employment — Thursdays, 1-4 p.m., offers an overview of basic information on resumes, interviews and job search skills as well as CareerCenter and community resources available during job searches.

Professionals Moving Ahead! — First and third Thursday of each month, 9 a.m.-noon. Presenters cover professional development and job-search strategies. Registration not required. Nov. 1: Job Search, Resumes and Interview Skills from the Human Resource Professional Perspective with Ashley Adams of Kelly Services and David Pease of Androscoggin Bank. Nov. 15: The Best Job Search Tips for Professionals with presenter Lee Ann Szelog.

The Job Quest — Offered in three locations, choose the time and location most convenient for you. Registration is required. Two sessions will be held at the CareerCenter: Nov. 5, 2-4 p.m., and Nov. 20, 3-5 p.m. A third session will be held at Central Maine Community College on Nov. 28, 12:15-1:45 p.m.; to register for the CMCC location, call 755-5239.

Job Search, Resumes and Interview Skills: Learn how to stand out in a positive way by marketing yourself. “Tough” interview questions will be discussed. Two sessions will be held, one at the CareerCenter on Nov. 8, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., and one at the Auburn Public Library on Nov. 15, 2-5 p.m. To register for the Auburn Library session, call 333-6640.

Mock Job Interviews: This workshop provides the tools needed to feel comfortable in an interview. Participating in the Resume/Interview Skills workshop is a prerequisite to attending this workshop. Two sessions: Nov. 13, 3-5 p.m., and Nov. 29, 2-4 p.m. Registration required.

Job Search Tips for People with a Criminal History: Nov. 8, 9-10 a.m. This workshop will give job search tips, suggestions on how to respond to hard-to-answer questions and identify where best to seek employment.

Career Decision Making. This two-part workshop will be offered in two separate sessions. Registration required. Session one: Nov. 5 and 9; Session two: Nov. 19 and Nov. 21. Call to register in advance.

CareerCenter Training Orientation is an overview of training programs at the CareerCenter, eligibility requirements and information on accessing services. Call or speak with CareerCenter staff about the meeting schedule and to register.

Essentials of College Planning for Adults covers the basic steps for successful college enrollment. To register, call 800-281-3703. Bring last year’s income tax forms to the appointment.

An Adult Education representative will be in the lobby every Wednesday in November (Nov. 7, 14, 21 and 28), 10:15-11 a.m.

Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation: Nov. 16, 1-2:30 p.m. For people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required. Sessions are held the third Friday of the month.

Dollars and Sense: Budget Overhaul for Tough Times: Nov. 13, 10 a.m.-noon. This two-hour workshop reviews the basic components for building a budget, including money tracking, categorizing expenses, ways to save and cut back, and short-term financial goal setting. Presented by Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community; to register, call Laurie at 753-6612.

Maintaining Self-Confidence during the Job Search: A three-part course: Nov. 19, 26 and Dec. 3, 1-3:30 p.m. Learn some concrete tools that can help you to keep your confidence strong throughout your job search. Presented by Maine Centers for Women, Work, and Community; to register, call Laurie at 753-6612.
