LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen voted Monday to accept the dispatch fees from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Department for six months.

The fees proposed and approved by county commissioners would cost the town nearly $34,000 for a year. They are $2 per capita for the public safety answering point to answer 911, $6.15 per capita to dispatch police calls and $2.50 per capita to dispatch fire and emergency medical calls.

Voters raised and appropriated $21,000 for dispatch fees in June for a six month period. It was unknown then what solution would be reached on dispatch services and what the cost would be.

Voters would have to approve appropriating more money, Town Manager Kristal Flagg said.

Androscoggin County’s fiscal year is by the calendar, Livermore Falls’ is July 1 through June 30, she said.

She will notify commissioners of the town’s decision.

Selectman Ken Pelletier said that if something better comes up during the six months then the town would be open to explore its options.
